The New City of Canterbury-Bankstown
A new City of Canterbury-Bankstown was announced by the NSW Government on 12 May 2016. The City of Canterbury-Bankstown replaces the Bankstown and Canterbury Councils, and becomes the largest Council in NSW with 350,000 residents.
The NSW Government has appointed Mr Richard Colley as the Administrator for the transition period leading up until the Local Government election for the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, which will be held on 9 September 2017. He carries all responsibilities and is supported by the Interim General Manager Mr Matthew Stewart.
The Councillors and Mayors have been replaced by the Administrator.
