Earlwood Village Festival
Earlwood Village Festival a great success
The City of Canterbury would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2012 Earlwood Village Festival.
The weather was once again kind to us and it was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with festival-goers enjoying all that was on offer, including performances and talent show, great food and a variety of stalls and rides for the kids, and the Twighlight cinema.
Without the help and support of event organisers and volunteer staff, performers, stallholders and the public, the event would not have been able to go ahead. A special mention must go out to our sponsors for making the event the success that it was, including:
- Earlwood-Bardwell Park RSL Club
- Bankstown-Canterbury Torch
- The Cooks River Valley Times
- Christina's Community Pharmacy
- Earlwood Village Chamber of Commerce
- Heartfelt Mind, Body and Spiritual Shop
- TAB Earlwood
- Canvas My Baby
- NRMA - Marrickville Metro
Event Background
One of the great things about our City is the wonderful range of community festivals and events we have - from the flavours and aromas of the Campsie Food Festival, to the vibrant entertainment and street parade of the Haldon Street Festival, we have much to celebrate.
The Earlwood Village Festival is another of our not-to-miss events that combines the unique qualities of Earlwood's great community.
The festival has been built on the hard work and dedication of the Earlwood Village Festival Organising Committee Inc, who have been outstanding in their efforts to run this annual event since 2001. In 2006, the Committee approached us and asked us to manage the event and we were happy to help.
The Festival plays host to plenty of bands, dancers and performers, amusement rides, entertainment and international cuisine, and reflects the quintessential Earlwood character. Each successive year builds on the great traditions of the event, delivering a fun and enjoyable day for the whole family.
Performers or stallholders are encouraged to participate in the Earlwood Village Festival and are invited to apply prior to the Festival.
Creative stalls, performers including singers, and dance groups of all styles including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, multicultural dance groups, school groups or bands are just a few examples of the entertainment which we encourage to help us make this day such a fantastic event.
