What are RSS Feeds?
"RSS" stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It is a way for content publishers to distribute content. RSS is about distributing content and not creating content.
RSS is an ideal way of keeping up to date with the latest news and developments coming from you favourite sites. There is no need to open your browser and check for updates! They automatically appear in your RSS reader.
RSS is seen by many as the ideal mechanism to replace email newsletters. It can help reduce the amount of email spam received and can alleviate the "clogging-up" of email servers.
How to Use RSS Feeds
The first thing that you have to do is download and install a reader. In general, most readers work the same way, although how channels are set up will be different for each program.
An alternative is to install a browser that can handle feeds. Most of the newer and updated browsers can handle feeds natively so you may not need to install a separate news reader.
To find out the best program for your to use, a simple search of the Internet will return a number of results. Choose one that works on your computer.
