Nature Strips, Landscaping and Park Management

Salt Pan Creek Sensory GardensThe City of Canterbury prides itself on the abundant established plant life that's evident within the area. We make every effort to ensure the beautification of our environment through the encouragement and management of plant vegetation.

We establish and maintain and extensive network of nature strips and gardens in the City and encourage the involvement of our residents with a green thumb in our Nature Strip Garden program.

We also undertake extensive landscape operations in and around Council owned property. Advice on landscaping is provided through control plans, ensuring the establishment of gardens which complement the area and are best suited to the Australian environment. We encourage our residents to use native plantlife to the area and offer a number of techniques as advice which will assist in garden maintenance and plant protection.

Through our park management program, we also maintain a large number of parks and open space, providing quality recreational and leisure facilities for all who visit and enjoy what the City of Canterbury has to offer.

So, whether it is a picnic that you want to enjoy, a jog in the park or some quiet time in the great outdoors, the open space which we provide has something to offer everyone.
