Policy and Planning

The Canterbury Council Disability Social Plan evolved out of Council's acknowledgment of the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, and recognition that all members of the community including people with disabilities are entitled to accessible, equitable and non-discriminatory services.  The aim of the Disability Social Plan is to assist Council in identifying those practices and facilities, which may discriminate against people with disabilities, and to offer a blueprint for change.
