Traffic Management

Traffic ManagementWe provide a Traffic Management function to address numerous traffic issues on behalf of the community. These traffic issues include:

  • Traffic flow
  • Traffic safety
  • Parking management
  • Road safety
  • Pedestrian facilities
  • Bicycle facilities

The above traffic issues are assessed by the local Traffic Committee. To address these issues, we use the following approaches:

  • more engineering improvements, e.g. roundabouts, speed humps
  • greater Police enforcement
  • continued education of the community
  • encouraging other road safety stakeholders to work with Council to improve road safety

If you would like to have an input please either write to the General Manager, Canterbury City Council, PO Box 77, Campsie 2194 or contact the Customer Service Centre on 9789 9300.
